Migraine is quite common, affecting about 12% of the US population. And although there is currently no cure for Chronic Migraine, doctors and researchers are studying new preventative treatments that may help improve quality of life.
A new clinical study, called the PREVENTION Study, is being at conducted at approximately 25 locations across the US. This research study is to test an investigational drug for migraine prevention in adults when taken daily for 12 weeks.
Participants in the PREVENTION Study will receive all study-related care at no cost. They will also be compensated for their time and travel to attend periodic visits at the local study doctor’s office to monitor their progress (up to 6 visits over a 5 month period).
Frequent Questions
Clinical studies or trials are used to learn about the safety and effectiveness of new medications, medical devices, medical procedures, or other types of intervention. Although there are many types of clinical trials, all must conform to strict rules set by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). These rules help protect the rights and safety of those who volunteer to take part in clinical trials.
If you qualify and choose to join the PREVENTION Study, you will receive study-related care at no cost to you. This includes the study drug, as well as any visits to your study doctor’s office. Health insurance is not required to participate.
